OUR REVIEW
THE NEIGHBOURHOOD
Located on the north coast of Crete on a steep hillside at Agia Pelagia, once a fishing village and now a seaside resort, the hotel is around 24km from Heraklion, its airport and ferry port.
By plane: flights from London and Manchester to Heraklion take under 4 hours. A taxi will take under 30 minutes from the airport. Free parking on-site. Book flights to Heraklion.

THE LOOK AND FEEL
Perched on a cliff overlooking the deep blue waters of Mononaftis Bay, the series of brown suites and villas line the hill. The look is rather more successful inside the rooms than out: the close proximity of the larger all-inclusive Seaside resort and lots of cars lining Acro's villas initially detract from the five-star look.

THE FACILITIES
Service is generally good. As well as the restaurant, bar and spa, there's a small boutique, a small gym with eco-friendly equipment and a well-equipped one with modern Technogym equipment. The bamboo yoga shala offers daily yoga and meditation. There are also sports facilities shared with sister resort, Seaside.

FOOD AND DRINK
Cremnos Restaurant is attractive and open-terraced one side, with floor-to-ceiling windows and walls of exposed Cretan grey and rust stone the other. It focuses primarily on healthy cuisine, although has options like burgers and tacos as well. Some tables have views of the bay. There's a bar, and another dining option is Asian restaurant Umi at sister hotel Seaside next door.
Cremnos: nutritious Greek cuisine, local and seasonal ingredients. Open for lunch and dinner.
