OUR REVIEW

THE NEIGHBOURHOOD

Set on a 65-acre private estate, the hotel offers the chance to escape the summer crowds. Glorious gardens run down to the Helford River, where you can relax on the foreshore or pick up the South West Coast Path. There's no classic Cornish beach here but Maenporth Beach is a short drive away.

THE LOOK AND FEEL

This is a traditional country hotel through and through, with cosy sitting rooms, a conservatory overlooking the garden and great service. The main fine dining restaurant has a formal atmosphere thanks to its high ceilings, smart dress code and attentive service. The rest of the hotel is more relaxed.

THE FACILITIES

The glorious gardens, woodland, golf course, tennis court and spa mean there is plenty to do without even leaving the hotel. Guided kayak tours and boat trips leave from the bottom of the garden and are the perfect way to explore the river. Service is professional yet friendly and personalised.
