THE NEIGHBOURHOOD

Located in rural South Devon, set apart from the hustle and bustle and yet a stone's throw from Plymouth (six miles away) and Dartmoor (eight miles away). Cross the River Tamar on the famous foot-ferry to visit impressive Mount Edgcumbe.

By train: London Paddington to Plymouth takes just over 3 hours. The hotel is a 20-minute taxi ride from the station. Book trains to Plymouth.

By car: Boringdon Hall is 50 mins from Exeter, 2 hours 15 mins from Bristol and 4 hours 15 mins from London. There is free parking at the hotel.

THE LOOK AND FEEL

Expect hefty wooden doors, stone archways and flagstone floors that give way to carefully crafted interiors fusing bespoke seating with rich colours and textures. The place is crammed with beautiful period features - think ornate ceilings and tapestries. The Great Hall with its oversized stone fireplace as its centerpiece serves as the hotel's bar and lounge.
