The hotel is a ten-minute stroll from the main attractions of Brighton but also its stomping ground of Kemptown has much to offer, such as treasure trove antique shops, little bars which locals love, quirky boutiques, as well as a flea market where you can pick up some great finds for great prices. The world's oldest aquarium is nearby; the popular sea life centre was designed by Eugenius Birch, the same architect who designed the West Pier.
By car: over 2 hours from London and Oxford, and 3 hours from Bristol. Parking costs £10 per day.
By train: London Victoria and London Bridge to Brighton takes around 1 hour. It's a 7-minute drive (or 20-minute walk) from the station. Book trains to Brighton.
The rooms are spacious and uncluttered. White walls feature throughout, creating a calm and clean atmosphere; the odd painting and colourful soft furnishings add needed colour, whilst large windows provide cheery natural light. Fireplaces and large, comfortable chairs add a homely touch to this otherwise modern-feel boutique hotel.
We appreciated the advice on where to eat out; most places were only a 15-minute walk away. The garden square outside the hotel made a nice change from the sea views (albeit spectacular) - it just gave another perspective. We loved the console table in our room which had plenty of space to store our things.

The rooms are modern and clean-lined, some more spacious than others and housing statement fireplaces which are cosy in the cooler months. All use a safe colour palette and minimal furniture for an uncluttered look. Chic tiled bathrooms blend in well.

Breakfast is an additional £10, though we felt that was good value for a freshly cooked wholesome breakfast. The views of Brighton's seafront whilst eating was lovely. It was a shame they didn't offer any other meals.
