THE LOOK AND FEEL

Formerly the home of socialite Lillie Langtry who sold it to the hotel on the condition she could live there, there's a homely feel and her original mosaic floor and beautiful staircase are still in place. Expect golden-age glam from highly polished parquet flooring, paired with clean white-panelled walls, ample comfortable seating upholstered in plush leather and velvet and splashes of colour from paintings to lamps.

THE FACILITIES

From the waiting staff to the concierge, staff were genuinely welcoming and attentive and especially sweet with our puppy who was very pleased to have her own canine menu, dog bed and pampering. Private gardens and tennis courts are facilities not easily found in well-located London hotels, so that was a big bonus.
