You'll also find nature reserves, beaches, stately homes, golf courses, ferry boat trips and racecourse nearby.

By train: London Kings Cross to King's Lynn station takes 1 hour 49 mins. From King's Lynn there is a regular bus service along the coast road - The Coast Hopper - or guests can take a 40-minute taxi. Book trains to King's Lynn.

THE LOOK AND FEEL

Formerly a coaching inn, the snug front bar has a large open fire, exposed brickwork and heavy wooden beams. Beyond this is a warren of dining areas, including a newer garden room conservatory and comfortable, contemporary rooms. For over 400 years, it has been the central hub and meeting place in this Georgian shopping town.

THE FACILITIES

Staff are confident and well-trained, with an efficient reception and capable dining team. For what is essentially a village inn, there's an impressive array of facilities, including a small spa and a residents' gym. There's limited onsite hotel parking plus street spaces in the vicinity.
