OUR REVIEW
THE NEIGHBOURHOOD
You can't get any closer to the historic Brooklands motor circuit; the Solomon Straight runs right through the hotel, as quartz and granite floor tiles in the foyer illustrate. Weybridge railway station (35 minutes by train from Waterloo) and the A3 and M25 are ten minutes by car. Zoom around the track on a Mercedes Benz World driving experience and browse vintage cars and bicycles at Brooklands Motor Museum, both next door.
By car: just over 1 hour from London or Brighton and around 2 hours from Birmingham and Bristol. There is paid parking on-site.
By train: Weybridge is on a direct line from London Waterloo, the ride takes 40 minutes. The hotel is a 10-minute taxi ride from Weybridge station. Book trains to Weybridge.
THE LOOK AND FEEL
The golden age of motor racing shines through at this modernist hotel with its headlight-themed lamp shades, motor-racing inspired artworks and huge bent wood sculpture hanging in the foyer. Executive-style rooms featuring blacks, reds and greys are named after former racing stars. Enormous chrome propellers hanging in the 1907 bar are a nod to Brooklands' past significance as an aerodrome too.
THE FACILITIES
All the staff are well trained, and it shows; our dinner reservation was changed without fuss despite the restaurant being full. The spa is the main facility. Car, spa packages, track and 4x4 driving experiences are available.
