OUR REVIEW

THE NEIGHBOURHOOD

The location is north of the Old Town, sat on the most southwestern point of the Lapad peninsula where Pletka Hill looks down over the hotel. It's pretty much at the end of the road, so there's a lovely sense of peace amid herb-heavy gardens and olive trees. Lapad Bay's Sunset Beach is a 12-minute walk, and a few minutes further is café-lined pedestrianised Šetalište Kralja Zvonimira.

By plane: direct flights from London to Dubrovnik take 2 hours 30 minutes. The hotel is a 30-minute drive from the airport. Free parking available. Book flights to Dubrovnik.

THE LOOK AND FEEL

Modern, breezy and chic is the style, with contemporary furnishings designed with flair by Croatian designer Prostoria. Light is the key here - enormous windows everywhere capitalise on all that Adriatic sunshine and blue waters. Colours are pleasantly muted, with echoes of streamlined mid-century décor and an overall feeling of laid-back sophistication.

THE FACILITIES

Warm and professional service from a multilingual staff is evident right from the start. Two outdoor pools - one with a swim-up bar - and plenty of sunloungers hover over the rocky beach, and there's also a dive centre, tennis court, beach shop and two boutiques. There's even a nightclub purely for private hire.
