THE LOOK AND FEEL
This 1950s listed building rising to nine floors began life as a theatre school and still has its original metal-framed windows. Interiors are by French artist and designer Raphael Navot whose masterly touch can be seen everywhere from menu fonts to terracotta table lamps inspired by the chimneys of Paris.

THE FACILITIES
The young and friendly multilingual staff are known as 'artistes' and they perform well. Hôtel Dame des Arts-branded clothes and accessories are on sale at reception and bikes can be hired. There is a sauna, small fitness studio and a single massage room on the lower ground floor.

FOOD AND DRINK
Unusually, there is no bar to sit at - just restaurant tables plus a leafy garden courtyard to the rear. The cuisine, described as 'contemporary Mexican with an Asian influence', rewards the curious with hit-the-spot cocktails and intriguing fusion dishes. There's a cool crowd and a DJ on Friday and Saturday nights.
The Restaurant: open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Sunday brunch, 12-3pm.
The Rooftop: panoramic views, bespoke cocktails and champagne. Open daily, May-Sep, 5-10:30pm.
