THE LOOK AND FEEL
Opened in 1926, this eight-storey block has a grown-up ambience with smartly-dressed staff, arty furniture and eye-catching floral displays. The hotel quickly feels like home and the restaurant attracts a well-to-do clientele from the neighbourhood. Interiors are restrained and immaculately presented, as are many of the guests.
