THE NEIGHBOURHOOD

This hotel is in the 9th arrondissement on the south side of boulevard Marguerite de Rochechouart, between rue Viollet-le-Duc and rue Lallier. It's a good base for exploring Montmartre, famous for its nightlife and bohemian lifestyle. The nearest Métro station is Anvers.

By plane: flights from London or Manchester to Paris Charles De Gaulle take 1 hour 15 minutes and the hotel is a 30-minute drive. Paid parking available nearby. Book flights to Paris.

By train: Eurostar from London to Paris Gare du Nord takes 2 hours 20 minutes and the hotel is a 15-minute walk. Book trains to Paris.

THE LOOK AND FEEL

Built in 1929 as a hotel, this handsome nine-floor building has been restored in a warm and colour-rich style that pays homage to its Art Deco origins while also feeling cool and contemporary. There's an antique lift with fancy ironwork, parquet and mosaic-tiled floors while walls are painted olive and mustard.

THE FACILITIES

The reception desk is set between two low-lit lounges with brown sofas and vintage chairs. The staff are upbeat and friendly with the men sporting green monogrammed jackets. The hotel's Colomba toiletries, candles and cocktails are on sale.
