OUR REVIEW

THE NEIGHBOURHOOD

You're the 13th arrondissement, close to where the boulevard Périphérique crosses the River Seine. The hotel crowns the 400ft high west tower of Tours Duo, a pair of 'wonky' glass skyscrapers designed by Jean Nouvel. While the building is unmissable the entrance in rue Bruneseau is deliberately discreet with no sign - look for number 65. Public transport links include Bibliothèque François Mitterrand Métro station, Tram 3B and RER line C.

By plane: flights from London or Manchester to Paris Charles De Gaulle take 1 hour 15 minutes and the hotel is 40 minutes' drive. On-site parking costs €35 per day. Book flights to Paris.

By train: Eurostar from London to Paris Gare du Nord takes 2 hours 20 minutes and the hotel is a 25-minute drive. Book trains to Paris.

THE LOOK AND FEEL

Designer Philippe Starck has created an enchanting 'castle in the sky' with large, peaceful, minimalist rooms set on the 17th-24th floors. High-speed grey metal lifts and bare concrete corridors lead to enchanting and witty spaces for sleep and play. In summer this is a magical spot to watch the sunset over the city.

THE FACILITIES

The friendly staff seem happy in this cutting-edge hotel with its buzzing bar and restaurant. There is a small fitness centre on the 17th floor and Starck-designed hand weights are provided in the rooms. Guests have complimentary use of the Press Reader app which lets you download a wide range of newspapers and magazines.
