OUR REVIEW
THE NEIGHBOURHOOD
Surrounded by the sort of postcard-worthy scenery that's made this part of Italy justly famous, the resort is a 45-minute drive from Pisa airport, while the Tuscan capital of Florence can be reached in just over an hour. Essentially its own self-contained village, you'll need your own wheels to explore beyond the confines of Castelfalfi.
By plane: direct flights to Pisa from London, Manchester and Bristol take around 2 hours 30 minutes. The hotel is a 45-minute drive from the airport. Free on-site parking. Book flights to Pisa.
THE LOOK AND FEEL
Though the resort is spread over a large area, the terrace is reliably atmospheric during aperitivo hour. Shared spaces recently underwent complete renovation, so guests now arrive to a contemporary lobby filled with fresh flowers and historic illustrated manuscripts belonging to the property's new owner.
THE FACILITIES
Staff at Castelfalfi are consummate professionals: charming, courteous and considerate. The resort has extensive facilities: a heated outdoor pool, golf course, a new adventure park featuring tree-top climbing and ziplines, plus archery, fishing and cooking courses on offer.
