OUR REVIEW
THE NEIGHBOURHOOD
The Marker is at Grand Canal Dock, a buzzing spot in the South Dublin Docklands with a waterfront, cafés, restaurants and a theatre. It is about 20 minutes' walk to the city centre, ten minutes' walk to the Dart (suburban rail) or less than ten minutes by car to the city centre. The location is ideal for the docklands and Bord Gáis Energy Theatre. The hotel is away from any main roads so free from traffic noises.
By plane: direct flights to Dublin from Manchester and Birmingham (1 hour), and London (1 hour 15 minutes). It's a 20-minute drive to the hotel. Parking costs €28 per day. Book flights to Dublin.
THE LOOK AND FEEL
This is a stylish hotel which makes bold design statements inside and out. The exterior has an eye-catching chequerboard facade, while inside there is a huge open lobby, bar and dining space with funky geometric ceilings of different heights. The hotel sits beside the angular theatre Bord Gáis Energy Theatre designed by Daniel Libeskind so it fits right in.
