The hotel is in Ballsbridge, a quiet, tree-lined upmarket area just south of Dublin city centre, around ten mins by car, taxi or Dart (commuter) rail, or a 30 minute walk. The hotel looks like a large brick building from outside but inside it is full of plush carpets, antiques and chandeliers, with lots of wood and soft lighting, all making it seem more like an historic hotel on the inside.
Even though this is a large hotel, service here feels personal and attentive (for example, the server at breakfast introduced herself by name). Facilities include a 14m lap-pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. There's a very well equipped gym (of a decent size), plus a full service spa with treatments. There's on-site parking, but it's expensive

Bedrooms are large, with really comfortable beds. Lots of the rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows; some have juliette balconies with views as far as Dublin Bay. The marble bathrooms are large, with deep bathtubs and separate shower.

There's a good choice here - the most formal option is dining in Seasons restaurant, which is plush with views over the Garden Terrace (another dining area, in good weather). The Lobby Lounge serves more casual food (burgers, salads, sharing platters) as well as afternoon tea, and there is often live piano music.
