OUR REVIEW
THE NEIGHBOURHOOD
This is a fabulous location, perched on a hillside above the water - and west-facing, so you'll be able to watch great sunsets over the lake. Thanks to the quiet and secluded location (it's set in two acres of private gardens), you'll feel a world away from the hubbub of the lakefront towns. Direct access to the water means you can easily explore the lake by boat.
By plane: direct flights from London (under 2 hours) and Manchester (2 hours 15 minutes) to Milan Malpensa. The hotel is around an hour's drive from the airport. Free on-site parking available. Book flights to Milan.
THE LOOK AND FEEL
Set in a 19th-century villa, the property is elegant and sophisticated, with bespoke, contemporary furnishings made by local artisans. Original details have been preserved where possible, such as the monumental fireplace in the reception area. The Venetian terrazzo flooring in the lounge was inspired by the ripples of the lake, while shelves are neatly lined with glass jars and coffee table books on art, with windows thrown open to let in a pleasant lake breeze.
THE FACILITIES
Direct access to the water means not only can you can zip off on one of the villa's Riva boats to explore the area, but you can also enjoy a refreshing dip in the lake. Open air yoga lessons are offered every morning in the garden. There's a lovely 20m infinity pool, too. Service is subtle and professional, with a young team of welcoming staff.
