Hotel Review: Villa Cordevigo, Lake Garda
This elegant red and honey-hued villa surrounded by vineyards and olive groves features sumptuously adorned interiors, with frescoed ceilings and antique furniture. The Michelin-starred restaurant is a major draw, serving creative dishes with Sardinian and Venetian flavours. There's a beautiful wooded Italian garden, a delightful swimming pool and a spa offering Ayurvedic treatments and massages.

THE NEIGHBOURHOOD
Immersed in 300-acre grounds of vineyards and olive groves, a cypress-lined avenue leads up to the elegant villa, where the atmosphere is calm and peaceful. The only minor snag is that from the pool area you can just about hear the distant hum of cars zipping along the nearby motorway, although the elegant atmosphere and gorgeous setting make up for this minor inconvenience.
By plane: direct flights from London to Verona take over 2 hours. The hotel is a 30-minute drive from the airport. Free on-site parking available. Book flights to Verona.
THE LOOK AND FEEL
Elegant and refined, this historic villa has ornate, carefully restored interiors that reflect the period atmosphere of the 18th-century manor house, with frescoed ceilings, Murano lamps and antique ornaments. Wooden ceiling beams add a slight rustic touch. It exudes a calm and peaceful air, with a charming courtyard fountain adding to the soothing ambience.
THE FACILITIES
A family-run hotel, service is professional with guests' needs taken care of with discreet, dedicated precision. The Italian gardens are sublime, there's a delightful open-air swimming pool and a beautiful 14th-century consecrated church housing a collection of 3,000 relics. There are bikes for guests' use and complimentary electric car charge points, too. As well as wine, the villa produces its own honey and olive oil.
