OUR REVIEW

THE NEIGHBOURHOOD

On the outskirts of the old town, the Nakar is just a few doors down from the popular El Corte Inglés department store on the famous Avenida Jaume III, one of the city's smartest shopping streets. From here the whole city is navigable on foot and public parking is a five-minute walk away. Passeig del Born with its luxury stores is also five minutes on foot; the cathedral is 12 minutes.

By plane: there are direct flights from London (2 hours 25 mins), Manchester (2 hours 40 mins) and Edinburgh (3 hours). The hotel is a 15-minute drive from Palma de Mallorca airport. Book flights to Palma.

THE LOOK AND FEEL

The Nakar (which means mother of pearl) is a haven of clean lines and minimal design. The reception is light and airy with white-washed walls, oak panelling and ambient lighting, including oversized metalwork pendant lamps. The rooftop feels like a beach club with wooden decking and rows of loungers.

THE FACILITIES

A young efficient team is on hand to help with advice and recommendations, and a WhatsApp number means you can connect with them even if you are out and about. The rooftop terrace is the spot for cocktails and sunbathing, while the spa soothes away the stress of a day spent in the shops.
