The building picks up the local architecture with attractive arched windows and supporting columns. Inside the feel is executive, with marble floors and dark wood furniture. The landscaping of the grounds feels tropical and the restaurant terraces are surrounded by lush planting.

Rooms are spacious and comfortable if a little lacking in the wow factor. A neutral palette of beiges and creams is lifted by a perspex panel featuring abstract sunflowers that runs along the headboard. Coffee machines and minibars are standard and some rooms have balconies overlooking the gardens.

You'll be able to sample plenty of Spanish favourites at La Bodega del Green, where tapas dishes include padron peppers, croquettes, fried calamari and Iberian ham alongside more substantial dishes such as sea bass with olives or oxtail with potato and rocket purée. At the main restaurant Es Carbo you can order steaks and lobster.
