THE LOOK AND FEEL
The resort is centred around the 5 O'Clock Somewhere pool, with accommodation blocks radiating out like the spokes of a wheel. Guests enter through a large curved lobby where an oversized metallic blue flip-flop sets the playful mood. There's a chandelier made with upside-down giant margarita glasses, cushions that look like a slice of lime and abundant turquoise.

THE FACILITIES
The St Somewhere Spa is the largest in a Palm Springs resort. Genial staff are keen to help, although it can take a while to get through by phone. Pools have cabanas and daybeds for rent and there's a fitness centre plus complimentary yoga sessions. Joe's Merchant Coffee & Provisions sells coffee, sandwiches, necessities and Margaritaville resort wear.
